Our Vision
Scholars to Scholars (S2S) Scholarship aims to establish a sustainable, resilient, and scholar-led scholarship program that provides both financial assistance and mentorship to domestic university students with the goal of fostering academic excellence, leadership, and long-term national development. The scholarship will be governed by international scholarship holders, ensuring transparency, accountability, fairness, and shared ownership.
Scholarship recipients are encouraged to give back by mentoring, volunteering, or contributing financially, once they have established their careers. In doing so, each generation of scholars helps create opportunities for the next generation through S2S Myanmar.

Why is S2S Myanmar needed?
Today, many public university students in Myanmar face notable barriers to pursuing higher education due to:
- Internal conflicts and frequent natural disasters
- Displacement from their homes
- Financial hardship that affects their families
- Rising inflation and increasing education and living costs
- Limited access to scholarship programs locally
According to UNICEF, around 3.5 million school-age children were out of school (nearly 20 percent of the child population), and the educational deficit stresses the country’s future growth for many sectors. While facing grave risks to higher-quality education, those who have worked tirelessly to reach university still struggle to continue their studies due to financial challenges and a lack of mentorship, which prevents them from reaching their full potential. These students need our support now more than ever.
